A multicenter analysis of genomic profiles and PD-L1 expression of primary lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma of the lung
Modern Pathology Nov 08, 2019
Xie Z, Liu L, Lin X, et al. - Capture-based targeted sequencing on tissue samples obtained from 27 individuals with adequate samples using a panel comprising of 520 cancer-related genes, spanning 1.64 Mb of the human genome was carried out in order to learn the molecular mechanism of tumorigenesis of pulmonary lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma and explore potential therapeutic approaches by examining the genomic profiles and PD-L1 expression of Chinese pulmonary lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma individuals at different stages. A different genomic landscape related to pulmonary lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma with no classic lung cancer driver mutation, but an enrichment of mutations in epigenetic regulators was elucidated. Moreover, for pulmonary lymphoepithelioma-like carcinoma, the identification of high PD-L1 expression and lack of any canonical druggable driver mutations increases the potential of checkpoint immunotherapy.
