A meta-analysis of neurodevelopmental outcomes at 4-10 years in children born at 22-25 weeks gestation
Acta Pediatrica Dec 18, 2018
Ding S, et al. - Authors analyzed descendants at age 4-10 years to estimate the pooled proportions of neurodevelopmental disability in children born at 22-25 weeks gravidity in a random-effects meta-analysis. The rates of moderate-to-severe neurodevelopmental disability were noted as 42% at 22 weeks; 41% at 23 weeks; 32% at 24 weeks and 23% at 25 weeks in 3980 records exhibiting a significant drop in risk of moderate-to-severe neurodevelopmental disability between each week. This high-quality data could be useful for physicians to support parents during a decision-making.
