A meta-analysis of GLP-1 after Roux-En-Y gastric bypass: Impact of surgical technique and measurement strategy
Obesity Surgery | Sep 11, 2017
Jirapinyo P, et al. - This study was designed to determine Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) level and its predictors after Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB). Observations suggested an increase in postprandial GLP-1 levels after RYGB, while there appeared no change regarding fasting levels. Shorter Roux limb length seemed associated with greater increase in postprandial GLP-1, which could lead to better glycemic control in this population.
