A Markov analysis of screening for late-onset cytomegalovirus disease in cytomegalovirus high-risk kidney transplant recipients
Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology Feb 14, 2018
Puttarajappa CM, et al. - Researchers herein, using decision analysis, assessed the utility of postprophylaxis screening for late-onset cytomegalovirus infection in cytomegalovirus high-risk kidney transplant recipients. They found that screening vs no screening for postprophylactic cytomegalovirus viremia was associated with gains in quality-adjusted life-years and seems to be cost effective in this population. Across a wide range of willingness to pay thresholds, the most cost-effective strategy was a strategy of screening every 2 weeks.
