A genome-scale DNA methylation study in women with interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome
Neurourology and Urodynamics Jan 29, 2018
Bradley MS, et al. - Researchers contemplated the suitability of usage of voided urine samples for performing a DNA methylation study in female patients presenting with interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) in comparison to the age and race-matched controls. Data illustrated the feasibility of using voided urine specimens from women with IC/BPS for carrying out DNA methylation assessments. Altered methylation was demonstrated in IC/BPS through the genes within or downstream of the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway.
