A double-blind randomized controlled trial comparing dexamethasone and clonidine as adjuvants to a ropivacaine sciatic popliteal block for foot surgery

Vermeylen K, et al. – Study authors investigated the impact on duration of sensory and motor block of using adjuvants to ropivacaine. They observed that among study participants, a significantly prolonged duration of postoperative sensory and motor block was achieved by the addition of dexamethasone (DXM) and clonidine to ropivacaine.
