A cross-sectional study of vitamin D levels in a large cohort of patients with rheumatic diseases
Clinical Rheumatology Nov 22, 2017
Nikiphorou E, et al. - This register-based study was carried out to assess 25-hydroxyvitamin D [25(OH)D] (D-25) levels and associations with patient- and disease-related factors in rheumatic diseases. Findings support the benefit of strategies to help minimize the risk of D-25 deficiency. Considerably higher D-25 levels were noted in older vs younger patients. A higher risk of deficiency was found to be related to lower physical exercise and higher BMI.
