El‐Hamd Neinaa YM, Lotfy SS, El‐Sayed Ramzy Ghaly N, et al. - Researchers conducted the study for analyzing the therapeutic effectiveness of microneedling in combination with NB‐UVB phototherapy vs their combination with latanoprost, a prostaglandin F2‐alpha, in vitiligo. Participants in the study were 50 patients who presented with stable bilateral localized non‐segmental vitiligo. In each patient; 2 bilateral, nearly symmetrical lesions were chosen and treated by microneedling (12 sessions at 2‐week interval) accompanied by topical application of latanoprost 0.005% solution on one side, and topical saline (as placebo) on the other side. Moreover, all patients got concomitant NB‐UVB phototherapy (three sessions /week) for 6 months. Findings suggested that topical latanoprost 0.005% improves the therapeutic effectiveness of combined microneedling and NB‐UVB phototherapy in localized stable non‐segmental vitiligo.
