Orosey M, et al. - In this study, experts sought to examine whether inlet patches were significantly correlated with proximal esophageal adenocarcinomas in a large population. Three new cases were added to the 39 previously reported cases of a simultaneous disease. The findings were also supplemented by a novel report of the statistically significant association between these two entities. This had important implications for the pathophysiology of proximal esophageal adenocarcinoma.
