3D quantitative synthetic MRI-derived cortical thickness and subcortical brain volumes: Scan–rescan repeatability and comparison with conventional T1-weighted images
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Apr 16, 2019
Fujita S, et al. - In this reproducibility/repeatability study involving 21 healthy volunteers, researchers assessed the feasibility of the recently developed sequence 3D-QALAS (3D-quantification using an interleaved Look-Locker acquisition sequence with T2 preparation pulse) for brain cortical thickness and volumetric analysis. According to findings, the relative difference in cortical thickness of the whole cortex was 3.1% compared with fast spoiled gradient recalled echo (FSPGR), and 89% of the regional areas showed a relative difference in cortical thickness of less than 10%. In most brain regions, 3D-QALAS could be used reliably to measure cortical thickness and subcortical volumes.
