3D echocardiographic evaluation of right ventricular function and strain: A prognostic study in paediatric pulmonary hypertension
European Heart Journal â Cardiovascular Imaging Sep 05, 2017
Jone PN, et al. – Researchers used 3D echocardiography (3DE) to assess right ventricular functional indices between normal children and paediatric pulmonary hypertension (PH) patients, and then analyzed these indices as outcome predictors in children with PH. Right ventricular (RV) function in paediatric PH patients versus normal children was found to be impaired. 3D RV ejection fraction (EF), volumes, fractional area change (FAC), and free wall RV strain enabled the prediction of outcome in paediatric PH patients.
