5 simple actions to make a difference on world cancer day

National Foundation for Cancer Research Jan 31, 2021

Each year, individuals around the globe come together for a day of dedication in the fight against cancer. This day is February 4thWorld Cancer Day. World Cancer Day is a global initiative dedicated to fighting cancer on all fronts. Over the past 20+ years, this international day has demonstrated one very important message: everyone has a role to play in reducing the global impact of cancer and TOGETHER we can do it!

This message of unity has never been more evident as it is now, as we watch the world come together to fight COVID-19. And because of the risk the virus poses to cancer patients and the impact its had on cancer research funding, its never been more important to come together and unite to defeat cancer now.

What started as simply a vision of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) has become one of the largest international health campaigns. This year, is the final year of the UICC theme I am & I will. This theme aims to illustrate how each persons actions, big or small, can make lasting, positive change. This call-to-action encourages everyone to pause and reflect about their strengths, ambitions, and what kind of impact they can make.

Consider these impactful actions, along NFCR, in celebration of World Cancer Day:
